Call for Collage Based Work
2012 marks the centennial of the appearance of collage in painting. In that time, collage has become ubiquitous within contemporary art and culture, and its myriad applications have arguably expanded its original definition to become the most inclusive of artistic processes. Collage at 100 is a three-part exhibition series that opens in September of 2012 and runs through June of 2013. All media considered. Deadline: December 31st, 2011. Design-Build Awards: Open to designers/artists/teams from the northeast region of theUSA: CT, MA, NH, VT, ME, NY, NJ. Four $7,500 awards.
Project Summary
Rethinking art, environment and community. The objective of this competition is to uncover new public realm art, architectural and environmental approaches to riverscapes at two scales: regional and intimate. Each designer/artist/team will produce an overall strategy for connecting and relating the four defined sites (and those between) while paying attention to the unique and individual characteristics of each community through site specific work.

Project Summary:
Boston is one of the few urban centers in theUnited States whose historic buildings share equal space and prominence with more modern constructions within the city. Photo Nights Boston seeks to draw attention to these landmark buildings with large-scale outdoor projections. As part of Photo Nights Boston's October 2012 public art event, an artist will be selected to design and produce a photography-based work of public art as a focal point.

ENTERING THE CONTEST: Photographers may submit images for consideration. An entry consists of a single image. Individuals may pay to enter an unlimited amount of times.
ENTRY FEES: $45 per single entry/$55 per series/$25 for student. PhotoServe membership entry fees: $32 per image | $40 per series. Submissions received after1/25/12will be subject to an additional late fee of $10 (through extended deadline period of2/17/2012).
