June Newsletter

Greetings!

Congratulations to Steve Wilda (our artist of the month) on winning the The Robert Sanstrom Prize -  Gold Medal from the The National Society of Painters in Casein & Acrylic (NSPCA)  You will not see this on their website because it is not yet been announced. You are getting a sneak peek!

I had the great pleasure of attending the Creative Communities Exchange, sponsored by NEFA (New England Foundation for the Arts) at Mass Moca last month.  It was an informative event. I have returned with some exciting plans and ideas. More about these in upcoming newsletters and blog posts. Check out Art Trends at the bottom of this newsletter for a video of the closing address made by Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts about Creative Space Making.

If you have not been counted in NEFA's CultureCount you really should be. Read my blog about this creative people data base.

I have been blogging! Follow my blogs, on either website, goneinc.com or nancybryant.com

This year's exhibit will feature 'Artist at Work' on two Thursday evenings from 6-8pm.  On June 16, watercolorist Art Scholz from Tolland, CT will be showcased.  Scholz was formerly a successful freelance illustrator. His vibrant paintings skillfully capture the countryside and seashores of New England.  His expressive style has won him many awards and recognition.

Photoshop Tip

 Healing Brush Tool

The Healing Brush Tool is great when you want to remove unwanted blemishes from a person's face. In the photo below I would like to remove the spots under the eye, the spot on the tip of the nose, and remove some of the darkness under the eye.
Eric before face

1) Select the Healing Brush Tool underneath the Spot Healing Brush Tool.
Healing Brush

  2) Make the brush the size of the blemish. That can be done by pressing the left bracket [ to make the brush smaller and the right bracket ] to make the brush larger.

3) Select an area closest to the blemish that is clear and has no spots on it. You can select by holding down the option key for a Mac or the ALT key for the PC.

4) Next select the blemish by simply clicking on it.

Great Job!

Keep repeating all the steps until your face is flawless.
