Thank you to all who have entered our Customer Appreciation Show. There are just a few spaces left on the wall. First to respond will be entered. Our artists' reception for New England's Finest Artists Show will be on Friday, February 12, 2010 4-7pm. Hope you can come and visit with some of the best artists working in this area.
We are still excited about our new Web site. We have started several give-aways for our Facebook fans. Become a fan and join in the fun. Look for clues and win the prizes. Look for us on Facebook and Twitter. Follow us or become a fan. Our first winner is Carol Munro, who won an 8x10 print on any media for finding the correct time on the clock in front of the store.

Artist of the Month

Dwight Rose is a graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design earning a BFA degree in painting went on to teach both in Ringlings degree and community art programs and VCU School of the Arts in Qatar. Over his 30-year career Rose has won numerous awards and his work has been in many collections. These collections comprise many corporations such as Exxon-Mobile, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar National Bank, Qatar General Tourism Authority, Petroleum Technology Co., Doha Qatar, Suntrust Bank Florida, University of North Carolina Greensboro, Shelton Group of Companies (Charlotte NC), Sarasota Wellness Center, Kybele Hotel, (Istanbul Turkey), Wake Forest University, and personal collectors such as Her Highness Sheika Mozah Bint Nasser AL Misnad, and the Associate Dean of Cornell University Medical College in Qatar to name a few.
Rose has participated in many group and one man shows. In February 2009 his work was featured in a group show held at the Hub Bub Gallery in Spartanburg SC. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of his work went to support the ETV Endowment. In the same year Rose participated in two juried shows. The Greenville SC Spring invitational called "Artisphere"& the 32nd Annual show of the South Carolina Water Media Society He also had a one-man show in the summer of 2007 in Monson Massachusetts NE. This show featured images of the Middle East where some of these images were earlier depicted in a self-published book, which was printed in the summer of 2006. Rose has traveled internationally and painted scenes from Jamaica, USA, India, Thailand, Russia, China, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Morocco, Italy, and Greece. He currently resides and works with his wife Ruth Beals in Spartanburg South Carolina where he also exhibits and teaches watercolor illustration.  |
