Earth Day
Annually, April 22 is a day set aside to honor planet Earth.  In all actuality, we should be treating everyday like Earth Day.  Together we can make a WORLD of a difference!Recycle

Interesting Facts:

  • For every 2000 pounds of paper (1 ton) recycled, we save 7,000 gallons of water free from chemicals.
  • Recycled paper requires 64% less energy than making paper from virgin wood pulp, and can save many trees.
  • Every ton of paper that is recycled saves 17 trees.
Simple things YOU can do:

  • Save water by decreasing your shower time and turn the water off while brushing your teeth.
  • Collect rain water in a rain barrel and use it to water your lawn and plants.
  • Use reusable shopping bags instead of plastic ones.
  • Compost grass clippings and food scraps, and when buying food, purchase locally.
  • Reduce your carbon footprint by carpooling and driving your car less.
  • Buy energy star appliances and drive a hybrid car.
  • Recycle as much as possible, and reuse items that would typically be thrown away.
