The Gold Level Keystone Clubs led a Summer Initiative Project centered around our Armed Forces during the week of September 7. Barrels were set up at all Club sites to collect toiletry items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, floss, soap, etc.) to send to our troops. Taking the project a step further, the Keystone Leaders were encouraged to partner with their school Student Councils to collect items at school as well. On September 11, the youth went to each site and took photos of participants with their donations and them loaded them up to deliver them. What great way for our Club youth to give back to our troops!
COMBAT recently selected three Club youth as winners of their annual Poetry Contest:
1st Place Winner - "Good Day Mom" by Alyssa Ann Marie
Runner Up - "A Child's Story" by Freddie Brim
Runner Up - "Untitled" by Casey Clark
Each of these selected poems will be printed in the COMBAT Picnic Resource Booklet and the winners were recognized at the Annual Drug Awareness Picnic on September 12 in Independence, MO. Congratulations to our talented and creative Club members!
