Sparkles for Sight

Sparkles for SightExperience an exclusive night of holiday shopping while helping the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation and Heartland Lions Eye Banks save sight!

On Sunday, November 13th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Foundation has the entire Charming Charlie store at Chesterfield Mall all to ourselves for our Sparkles for Sight event! For a minimum $10 donation, you’ll receive 20% off your evening’s purchases and enjoy light refreshments while you shop the night away. All donations will help expand our Children’s Vision Screening program in low-income neighborhoods.

The Eye Bank Honors Legacies of Eye Donor and Co-Worker in 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade

Donate Life FloatOn January 1, the lives of two incredible women close to the Eye Bank family will be honored during the 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade.

The Eye Bank is participating in the 2012 Donate Life Rose Parade Float by sponsoring a floragraph- or floral portrait- of eye, organ and tissue donor, Mariah West. The Eye Bank chose to honor Mariah’s donation in memory of Darian Vanderhoofven, our fellow colleague who lost her life in the Joplin tornado. Darian worked closely with both St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Freeman Health System in their annual local rose dedication ceremonies tied to the Donate Life float...

Vision Screening Keeps Preschooler in Focus

Children's Vision ScreeningBlake is an active preschooler who loves to read books, play outside and color pictures. In fact, he is so adept at his favorite activities that his parents never thought that he might have problems seeing. However, this past spring, a free vision screening performed at his daycare by the Foundation indicated otherwise.

100 Million in the U.S. Now Registered as Organ and Tissue Donors!

Donate Life AmericaA goal set by Donate Life America and the donation and transplant community in 2006 was achieved this month. One hundred million people in the United States are now reported as registered organ, eye and tissue donors through state donor registries. The milestone is a testament to our human nature and our willingness to work together for the greater good, even at times of great national trial.
