Free Vision Screenings at the Saint Louis Science Center

Children's Vision ScreeningFrom Friday, July 8 through Saturday, July 9, 2011, the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation will hold our largest free Children's Vision Screening event of the year for children ages six months and up at the Saint Louis Science Center. Hours for the screenings are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.

We're still looking for volunteers to help on Saturday! Visit our Volunteer page to learn how you can join us at this highly anticipated yearly event.

Catch the Best Football Action in Missouri This July!

Football GameHigh school football stars from around the state will converge on the University of Central Missouri on July 16th for the Missouri Lions All-Star Football Game. This annual event raises funds to help the Foundation continue our mission of preserving and restoring sight in Missouri and around the world.

Pre-game activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the gate. Children age 12 and younger are free.

The Compassion of a Little Boy, The Strength of a Tiger

Cornea DonorFrom the moment he entered the world, Mason Kempf made an impact on everyone he met through his big smile and bigger heart. By the time he left this world in March 2011, that impact wrapped around the globe and showed complete strangers how one little boy can change the lives of many.

Mason was an intelligent, active child who loved Boy Scouts, soccer, video games and playing with his brother and sister. By second grade, he already planned to attend the University of Missouri and become a scientist. However, a diagnosis of diffuse pontine giloma, a brain tumor, in April 2010 changed his path in life...

Join the Donors Rock Ride on August 1st

Society for Organ Donor AwarenessLove to bike? Want to help spread the word about organ donation? On Monday, August 1st, you can do both by joining Heartland Lions Eye Banks and Donate Life Missouri at the Donors Rock Ride in Columbia, Mo.

David Landsberg, a kidney recipient and founder of the Society for Organ Donor Awareness, will ride 50 miles in 50 states in 50 days to promote eye, organ and tissue donor registries across the country. Bring your bike to ride alongside Landsberg during the Missouri leg of this incredible tour.
