February 2011 Update

2011 hasn't started out so well here at BECA.
Of 11 BECA students applying for careers in hospitality and nursing, only 1 was accepted! All the rest failed their admissions exam.
I was shocked. I knew that the secondary education our students receive was weak, but I didn't think it was that weak.
What to do? Well to start we'll see if we can place these people in different institutions, ideally in the same career.
Second, we have to give serious thought to tweaking our Course One screening process.
Perhaps it is necessary to include sections of mathematics and Spanish review.
Nothing we can't resolve. Personally, I love the challenge.
