July Update

Dear ,

I've got some sad news.

Brian Alvo, BECA's executive director, is leaving. He's going back to University.

It was almost 18 months ago that the guy showed up here in Nicaragua and saw what I was trying to do with BECA.

He told me he really liked what I was doing and asked if he could help. I told him to pick up a shovel.

He did and then he started digging. And digging. And then he dug some more. The guy worked like crazy for BECA for about a year and a half.

It is fair to say that BECA wouldn't be where it is today without his dedication, his labor, and his smarts.

We pieced together a goodbye video. You can view it here.
