The Crying Tree Out In Paperback July 6th!

"Beautifully written, expertly crafted, forcefully rendered. The Crying Tree is a story of forgiveness, but at its core it is a love story as well, and that is the most powerful story of all." Garth Stein The Art of Racing in the Rain
"Mesmerizing." Jacquelyn Mitchard The Deep End of the Ocean No Time Left to Say Goodbye
"Naseem Rakha writes with both clarity and sympathy about one of the most mysterious and evasive of human impulses: forgiveness. The Crying Tree is a memorable and deeply humane novel." Jon Clinch Finn Kings of the Earth

It has been a year since The Crying Tree came out in hardback. Since then, it has hit the San Francisco Chronicle's Best Sellers list, became a Barnes and Nobel Discover New Writers Pick, received the 2010 Pacific Northwest Book Award, and, beginning in August, will be featured at Target for their Target Reads program.
Book sellers love this book for its topical, heartfelt and controversial plot and heart breaking characters. If you have a book club, now is the chance to incorporate The Crying Tree into your reading list.
In conjunction with the paperback release, I will be giving numerous talks throughout the summer. During these events, I will be reading from the book as well as discussing what I have learned from readers, writers and booksellers during this whirlwind year.
You can see all events on my calendar.
