Forward to a Friend
Greetings!

Just a quick update before I leave Chautauqua.
Susan Henderson, author and co-curator for NPR's "Dimestories", has posted an interview with me on her wonderful website LITPARK.COM. Her questions delve deep into my novel's  underlying themes, and their implication in our lives. If you want to get to the heart of the novel, I highly encourage you to read the interview and join the discussion.

One of Susan's questions is about music and what roll it played in writing the novel. While thinking about the answer I was compelled to create The Crying Tree playlist, which is available by linking to my web site.

The list contains some of the pieces I listened to while "composing" my novel. By clicking on the songs title, you will be brought to the Itunes website. Once there, you can listen to a portion of the song, or purchase all or just a few songs off the playlist. If you like the music as much as I do, you may want to click the Itunes "tell a friend" link. I really think it is a beautiful playlist, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
That's the news for now. I will be back in Oregon this weekend, and am looking forward to the golden hills and dry heat. Later this month Elijah and I head to eastern Washington, Montana and Idaho for a book tour and an exploration of parts of the Lewis and Clark Trail.

Enjoy the rest of your summer....
