Global Awareness inspired Tile By Design's entry to the IIDA's ninth annual fashion show and fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. More than 851 glass and stone mosaic tiles were applied in an African Kente pattern to commercial upholstery fabrics, creating an ethnic and urban attitude. Kiley Larson of Cuningham Group modeled a tunic-styled dress with a glass-jeweled headband and Todd Kukral of Tile By Design sported a tribal collar, an armband and a belt bag large enough for electronic gear. Ensembles were designed by Tile By Design staffers Marie Schuster and Jean Vanwie and were produced by Jean Vanwie and Todd Kukral. Fabrics were donated by Maharam and tiles by Villiglas and Vitrex. The outfits will be displayed at Tile By Design's Plymouth showroom.
