Montlake Leads a $7.5 Million Growth Recapitalization for Blue Dog Bakery

 Blue Dog
Blue Dog Bakery is a Seattle-based provider of premium all-natural, low-fat dog treats.  Founded in 1998, Blue Dog is a category leader distributed through top retailers such as PetSmart, Safeway, Wal-Mart and many others.

Montlake partnered with search fund entrepreneur, Kyle Polanski, to lead the recapitalization of the company.  Blue Dog's founders achieved partial liquidity while maintaining a significant ownership stake and active role in the business.  Polanski has since joined the company as CEO.

Montlake's Dale Vogel and Todd Marker bring over 30 years of combined investment and operational experience in the branded consumer products industry and have joined Blue Dog's board of directors.

The Catalyst: How YOU Can Become an Extraordinary Growth Leader

AttendeesMontlake Partner, Rob Wiltbank, recently released the co-authored book The Catalyst: How YOU Can Become an Extraordinary Growth Leader, which explores how you can create, lead and sustain organic growth in your organization, even in today's turbulent and uncertain marketplace.

The Catalyst represents the culmination of a three-year study of how operating managers achieve extraordinary growth and provides a practical framework with which to understand not only who the growth leaders are - how they think and behave - but also the strategies and techniques they employ to drive growth from the inside out.
