Greetings!
Happy Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a time of reflection.  I hope you take the opportunity to reflect on your vision, values, and virtues.  I've been busy living life fully and promoting the release of my newest book, "Superwoman Doesn't Live Here Anymore."  Since our last communications I've spoken at Montgomery College, Indian Health Service, Polk State University and 100 Concerned Black Women in Florida, a Writer's Conference in Camden NJ,  Montgomery County Government, Baltimore Women's Federal Executive Board, HUD, Black Kids Rock, ROASA, and CHRA(Chesapeake Human Resources Association -a division of SHRM).
A Time To Remember or To Forget?
"Lest we forget!"  Each year most people happily look forward to the Memorial Day weekend, not necessarily because of what it stands for but because it represents a day off from work or school.  It's a chance to forget about homework, the job, the bills, the pressures, and the everyday grind.  That sounds more like Labor Day. So, what is the true meaning of Memorial Day, to remember or to forget
Memorial Day:  Befittingly Remembering

Memorial Day is not only a time to remember deaths, but more importantly a time for us to remember the lives and contributions of those that have served, sacrificed, or meaningfully touched our lives and passed on.

If you truly valued the life of someone now departed, stop right now, write down their names, say a prayer for them, and REMEMBER them befittingly.
Honoring, Respecting, and Valuing ALL Life

I think we best honor the dead when we truly appreciate, respect, and value ALL LIFE! Perhaps we can all agree to the universal benefit of focusing on the value of all human life, whether it is a fetus or elderly, able or disabled, black or white, rich or poor, homeless or decadently housed, on foreign or American soil, whether Christian or Moslem, Buddhist or Bahá'í, gay or straight, male or female, employed or unemployed, sick or healthy, or famous or ordinary. May Health Tip: Water
Did you know that Infants and children are more susceptible to dehydration than adults because of their smaller body weights and higher turnover of water and electrolyte according toPUBMED.  "The elderly and those with illnesses are also at higher risk."  Don't wait until you're thirsty.  Skin that does not return quickly  to it's previous state when pinched is a sign of a late stage of dehydration.
