Greetings!
Last week I presented a course titled, 'Beyond Time Management: Five Keys to High Quality Task Completion'.  We're all familiar with the basics of time management.  We know we must have a clear vision, plan our work, work our plan, focus, act, and finish.  But many still find their goals to be elusive.  In this issue I'll share three exciting tips discussed in the workshop.
1) Manage Your Roles
Roles=Time Commitments

Life is a stage and we each play different roles, some of our choosing, some not.  Whether it is in our jobs or schools, our community, our homes, or places of worship, each of us takes on many roles.  And, with each role we make an expressed or subconscious commitment of our time.  If we want to avoid overload and limit our stress, we must learn to manage our roles.  Some of our roles give us more energy, and some zap it and drain us.  You have to decide which is which.  I have provided a process for clarifying, analyzing, and prioritizing our roles in my book, TalleyUP: The Excitement of Value Based Living.  "The first step to living more on purpose is to define your roles. Every role you choose to play in life will have to compete for your precious and limited time. Each role will vie to be the most important priority... Read more on roles.

2. Manage Your Interruptions

How many times are you interrupted each day?
Did you know that "knowledge workers are interrupted or switched topics about every eleven minutes" or that  "workers visit an average of 50 websites a day", or that "in the United States, more than $650 billion a year in productivity is lost because of unnecessary interruptions?"  These are the statistics according to experts, Dr. Gloria Mark, Rescue Time, Basex, and others.  Basex reported that 28% of a worker's interruptions are...  Click to find more about their studies and to learn three tips for managing interruptions.

3. Manage Your Energy
Let's face it, we'd all like or could benefit from having a little more time in our lives.  Unfortunately, no one gets "extra" time. We are all confined to the same 24 hours, no more, no less, but there is a solution.  We will feel like we've got more time when we  rescue some of our wasted hours and redistribute or redirect those hours to fulfilling goals and dreams that matter more to us. "Our accomplishments are dependent upon our energy. No matter how much you desire something, you cannot do it if you have no energy."  Continue reading an excerpt from my TalleyUP book on 12 Tips for Creating More Energy.
BONUS: Don't Forget to Eat!
Most people don't have to be reminded to eat.  Rarely do those who have access to food choose to not feed their bodies.  But, unfortunately this is not always the case when it comes to feeding the spirit, for far too many people are spiritually famished.  You can spot them by the spirit-less qualities they exude. Feed Your Spirit, Don't Forget to Eat Part 2.

September Health Chronicles
For those of you following my health chronicles, my stepmom is doing fine, but my daughter has some new symptoms since August.

Without notice, one side of her body paralyzes for about 20 seconds before returning to normal.  She however, is remarkable. She never complains at all.  I find her randomly lying on the floor, ground, or couch, whereever her body gives out.  She lies there quietly waiting for the pain to pass as one side of her body is limp and lifeless and the other twitching uncontrollably.
These excrutiatingly painful attacks occur regularly throughout the day and night. She rarely gets a good nights sleep.

I wouldn't even know about the episodes if I weren't already in the room or if she didnt call for me to get the baby sometimes.. She suffers silently and then gets up and attends to her one and four year old as if nothing has happened.

I hear so many people complaining about so many things and I watch her (aged 26), with a husband off to war, just go about life without a negative word, or "why me?", or a tear.  She surely is my hero and one of the strongest people I know. I am so proud of her.

So, if any of you have heard of something like this before, please email me.  As of yet, no doctors seem to know what's going on.  She has now transferred to Johns Hopkins so wish us luck.  We believe we will get a diagnosis and cure. All of your prayers are welcome and appreciated. Thank you

P.S.  A healthy tip for you is Mediterranean Wild Oregano Oil.  I love this oil.  It works for me and keeps me from getting a cold! Another Source.  But, remember I am not a doctor and can make no diagnosis, so do your own research. 3rd Source to read. I got mine from Whole Foods.
