Change is In The Air But Are You Changing With It?

 Dear
CHANGE IS IN THE AIR!
The fall season symbolizes change.  Change is in the air.   The leaves are changing colors.  The temperature is dropping.  People are settling down after a summer of moving about and starting to focus on what they want to accomplish in the two and a half months still remaining in 2009.  We see change everywhere and the old familiar is no longer so familiar.  The things that we have come to depend on no longer offer the security we once relied on such as Health, Job Security, and Retirement.

You can't turn on the television without hearing about the Swine Flu or the H1N1 virus.  And, what about the
unprecedented job losses, home foreclosures, or the loss of retirement funds that so hard working trusting people had relied on.  While we'd like to snuggle in and take it easy, the intensity of the current changes demand that we be more vigilant, aware, and responsible than ever before.

The first change we must make has to do with our health.  We must make it a priority, do our own research, and take care of our bodies  Note:  This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so make sure you get your checkups! We must take care of each other too.  This is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  ... Click to continue article.

We are living in stressful times and we've got to take care of our health.  Staying healthy is critical to our success and well-being.  Think about what would happen to your family and lifestyle if you had a severe long-term illness?

For the past two months, the majority of my time has been focused on helping my daughter figure out what is happening to her health.  She had a sudden onset of severe pain after childbirth and none of the doctors seem to have a clue about what is wrong or how to help.  We have reached out to both allopathic and homeopathic doctors, to both traditional and non-traditional health therapies.  We've tried Reiki, Accupuncture, Chiropractors, and infrared light therapy.  We've focused on diet, ph levels, water, vitamins, and minerals.

I've been a health advocate for years, but now I am learning so many more new things about health.  I've even updated my Superwoman Doesn't Live Here Anymore workshop to include a segment on health.  I've even started a blog to be able to share with you new technologies as I learn about them.  During my research to help my daughter I learned about a homeopathic essential oil blend called Neuragen that does more for her pain than the Percoset, Morphine, and Valium and without the addictive side effects.  I'm now committed to sharing knowledge about health with my readers.  Be sure to check out my detailed blog entries on the amazing health benefits of  Garlic, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Cayenne Pepper.  Be sure to check back often as I add new entries every few days.
Time Tip #1: Throw Away Your To-Do List
clockCheck, check, check.  Each checkmark represents another completed task and a sense of accomplishment.  If we're going to be able to take care of ourselves and others, prepare for the changes in the job market, and be leaders of change, we'll have to become masters at managing our time.  We need to be aware of our limitations and not go overboard.  We also have to give ourselves credit for what we are able to accomplish.

Each day you happily check the items you've completed off of your To-Do list, one by one.  Yet, overwhelmingly most people find that there are always items left on the list undone at the end of the day.  Instead of being happy about the tasks they were able to complete, too often many feel frustrated about the tasks still left undone.  To some, it's downright frustrating to not check everything off.  For others, it triggers a sense a failure or overwhelm.  That's why I use an Energy Request form that is discussed in Habit 10 of my TalleyUP System.

The traditional To-Do list just doesn't work for me.  First of all, these two words do not imply choice.  And, in reality, we all have many choices.  We can do it, delay it, discard it, or delegate it. If it is something that we want to do and we have the time, resources, and energy to do it, then we should.  If we choose to do it, then we must decide if we will do it now or if we will delay the task until later.

However, if we know we won't be able to do it now or later, we need to consider other options so that we do not stress ourselves out needlessly.  We must ask ourselves, "Can someone else do this?"  If so, delegate the task and save your energy for the tasks that move you closer towards your goals.  If you do not want to do, delay, or delegate the task, then your only option left  is to discard it.  Let it go.  You don't have to prove anything to anyone.  Even though you are capable of doing anything, still you can't do everything!  So, just say "No " and remember that no is a good answer too.  If you enjoyed this time tip, check out the others below.
