Speaker Presentation

William D. Roberts, of Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.S.C., will present and lead a panel discussion on "QDROs and Marital Dissolution Items Affecting Retirement Plans."
                                                                                                                                 Bill Roberts has worked in the employee benefits field for over 25 years. During that time, he has worked for two employee benefits consulting firms and three law firms. He has served as benefits counsel to entities ranging in size from single-person professional practices up to public companies traded on national stock exchanges with tens of thousands of employees. He has also served the Kentucky Public Employees Deferred Compensation Authority as special counsel and outside general counsel. Both as a consultant and as a lawyer, he has counseled hundreds of clients in all aspects of tax and ERISA compliance related to maintenance of defined contribution and defined benefit tax-qualified retirement plans as well as welfare plans.

While at Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.S.C., Bill has provided ongoing counsel to many faith-based and governmental entities in the operation of their retirement and welfare plan arrangements. The majority of his time is dedicated to advising health care providers.

Bill is admitted to practice at the bars of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Indiana, and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a member of the Kentucky, Indiana, American, and Louisville Bar Associations, the LEBC, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Southern Employee Benefits Conference, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, his M.B.A. from Wake Forest University, and is a 2003 graduate of the United States Army War College, having served on active duty as a Captain in the United States Army (1977-1981) and in the United States Army Reserve from 1981 to 2007, retiring at the rank of Colonel.

ASPPA Annual Conference, National Harbor, Maryland,
October 23-26, 2011

   

The ASPPA Annual Conference for 2011 will take place in National Harbor, Maryland at the Gaylord National Resort (just outside Washington, DC) from Sunday, October 23 through Wednesday, October 26. This ASPPA-sponsored program brings together more than 1,500 retirement plan professionals and offers up to 25 hours of continuing professional education in the form of more than 70 general sessions and workshops as well as more than 80 vendor displays. Meeting & Guest Policies

 

Please remember that the Retirement Plans Sub-Council Members will not need to pay at the door to attend the lunch.  Other interested LEBC members who would like to attend the luncheon are asked to pay $40 at the door ($50 for guest) (payable to the Louisville Employee Benefits Council).  


 

Check computerized signs for meeting room location. 

Parking vouchers are available at meetings for individuals parking in the Marriott garage. 


 

Please note that LEBC does not validate valet parking.

RSVP's and Cancellation Policy
 

Please note that members are asked to confirm their attendance at all meetings.  

 

**No-shows are a recurring problem and continue to adversely affect the LEBC's efforts to manage expenses.**   

 

The Marriott charges the LEBC for all reservations made and not cancelled by noon on the Friday immediately prior to the Luncheon.
