Important 2011 Information
2011 Officers & Program Committee Members
At the January meeting, which is the LEBC Annual Meeting, the slate of 2011 officers will be proposed and voted on by LEBC Members. In order that we have a quorum, we ask that all Members make an effort to attend this meeting. The 2011 proposed Officer state is as follows:

Continuing Education Credits
The LEBC is applying for one hour continuing education credit for eligible presentations with the Kentucky Bar Association, the Joint Board of the Enrollment of Actuaries, the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy, the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, and the Kentucky Department of Insurance. Forms for qualifying continuing education credits will be available at the registration table.

Speaker Presentation
Thomas Berner, CFA of UBS Wealth Management Research will present Economic Update.
Mr. Berner is an Economist within UBS Wealth Management Research. He concentrates on the U.S. economy with a strong focus on econometric modeling. His insights and forecasts of key variables of the U.S. business cycle serve as input for the overall UBS Global WM&BB investment strategy. Mr. Berner started his professional career as an economist with UBS Investment Bank in 2000, covering the Canadian and Swiss economies and later the U.S. economy.
Mr. Berner studied economics at the University of Basel in Switzerland with a major focus on econometrics and financial markets. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has appeared on CNN en Espanol and Radio America (Argentina).

Meeting & Guest Policies
You are invited to attend all LEBC monthly luncheon and presentation meetings as well as LEBC Sub-Council meetings.
The monthly luncheon meetings are the second Tuesday of the month and begin at 11:30 a.m. with registration and a time for networking and socializing. Lunch will be served at Noon. Speaker presentations begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. Meetings will conclude no later than 1:30 p.m.
Guests are welcome at our monthly luncheon meetings for a fee of $50. Add your guest information to the RSVP, or notify the Membership Chair:

Sub-Council meetings are the fourth Tuesday of the month and begin at 12 noon. Cost for attending these meetings is $40 for members who did not sign up with their annual dues and $50 for guests.
If you would like to attend a Sub-Council meeting, RSVP through the newsletter and pay at the door when you arrive for the meeting.

**No-shows are a recurring problem and continue to adversely affect the LEBC's efforts to manage expenses.**
The Marriott charges the LEBC for all reservations made and not cancelled by noon on the Friday immediately prior to the Luncheon.
