Continuing Education Credits
The LEBC is applying for one hour continuing education credit for eligible presentations with the Kentucky Bar Association, the Joint Board of the Enrollment of Actuaries, the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy, the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, and the Kentucky Department of Insurance. Forms for qualifying continuing education credits will be available at the registration table.

Speaker Presentation
John L. Utz of Utz, Miller & Eickman, LLC will present Defined Contribution Plan Practitioner and Sponsor Issues.
Mr. Utz focuses exclusively on employee benefits law, including matters affecting pension, profit sharing, ESOP, 401(k), executive compensation, and health and welfare programs. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is a Fellow in the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. Mr. Utz is also active in the American Bar Association, currently serving as co-chair of the Pension Legislation Subcommittee of the Section of Taxation and having chaired several other ABA subcommittees on employee benefit issues. In addition, Mr. Utz serves on the Senior Editorial Board for annual supplements to the treatise Employee Benefits Law (published by the Bureau of National Affairs) and is a member of the board of editors for the Journal of Pension Planning & Compliance and the Journal of Deferred Compensation.
Mr. Utz holds a law degree (magna cum laude), as well as a master's degree (M.S.) in mathematics, from the University of Illinois.
The lunch menu will be a buffet and will include the following:
Soup du jour, sliced roasted beef, genoa salami, grilled breast of chicken, smoked ham and turkey, sliced cheddar, swiss, provolone and pepper jack cheeses. Selection of artisan breads. Salad of mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers with choice of balsamic vinaigrette or ranch dressing. Roasted potato salad, asian shrimp salad, tomato and mozzarella salad with onions, basil and mozzarella. Fresh seasonal fruit and an assorted dessert bar.

Meeting & Guest Policies
You are invited to attend all LEBC monthly luncheon and presentation meetings as well as LEBC Sub-Council meetings.
The monthly luncheon meetings are the second Tuesday of the month and begin at 11:30 a.m. with registration and a time for networking and socializing. Lunch will be served at Noon. Speaker presentations begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. Meetings will conclude no later than 1:30 p.m.
Guests are welcome at our monthly luncheon meetings for a fee of $50. Add your guest information to the RSVP, or notify the Membership Chair:

Sub-Council meetings are the fourth Tuesday of the month and begin at 12 noon. Cost for attending these meetings is $40 for members who did not sign up with their annual dues and $50 for guests.
If you would like to attend a Sub-Council meeting, RSVP through the newsletter and pay at the door when you arrive for the meeting.

**No-shows are a recurring problem and continue to adversely affect the LEBC's efforts to manage expenses.**
The Marriott charges the LEBC for all reservations made and not cancelled by noon on the Friday immediately prior to the Luncheon.

2010 Great Lakes Benefit Conference
As a reminder, the LEBC is a Cooperating Sponsor of the 2010 Great Lakes Beneifts Conference. This year's conference will be held at the Wyndham Chicago on June 16-17. The conference is jointly sponsored by the IRS and ASPPA. More information is available at www.asppa.org/greatlakes. |
