Important 2010 LEBC Information
2010 Officers & Program Committee Members
At the January Meeting, which is the LEBC Annual Meeting, the slate of 2010 officers will be proposed and voted on by LEBC Members.
In order that we have a quorum, we ask that all Members make an effort to attend this meeting.
The 2010 proposed Officer slate is as follows:

During the December Holiday Luncheon, the following Program Committee Members were recognized for their commitment and dedication after completing a two-year term.

Ben Evans is leaving the position of Sub-Council Coordinator after serving for two years.

Continuing Education Credits
The LEBC is applying for one hour continuing education credit for eligible presentations with the Kentucky Bar Association, the Joint Board of the Enrollment of Actuaries, the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy, the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, the Kentucky Department of Insurance. Forms for continuing education credits will be available at the registration table.

Speaker Presentation
Thomas Berner, CFA® with Wealth Management Research will present an Economic Update.
Mr. Berner is an Economist within Wealth Management Research. He concentrates on the U.S. economy with a strong focus on econometric modeling. His insights and forecasts of key variables of the U.S. business cycle serve as input for the overall UBS Global WM&BB investment strategy. He started his professional career as an economist with UBS Investment Bank in 2000, covering the Canadian and Swiss economies and later the U.S. economy.
In 2002, he switched to Wealth Management as a U.S. economist and research assistant to the Global Head of Wealth Management Research. Apart from covering the U.S. economy, he is actively involved in formulating investment recommendations for the main asset classes as a member of the Global Investment Recommendations team.
Thomas Berner studied economics at the University of Basel in Switzerland with a major focus on econometrics and financial markets.

Meeting & Guest Policies
You are invited to attend all LEBC monthly luncheon and presentation meetings as well as LEBC Sub-Council meetings.
The monthly luncheon meetings are the second Tuesday of the month and begin at 11:30 a.m. with registration and a time for networking and socializing. Lunch will be served at Noon. Speaker presentations begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. Meetings will conclude no later than 1:30 p.m.
Guests are welcome at our monthly luncheon meetings for a fee of $50. Add your guest information to the RSVP, or notify the Membership Chair:

Sub-Council meetings are the fourth Tuesday of the month and begin at 12 noon. Cost for attending these meetings is $40 for members who did not sign up with their annual dues and $50 for guests.
If you would like to attend a Sub-Council meeting, RSVP through the newsletter and pay at the door when you arrive for the meeting.

Please note that members are asked to confirm their attendance at all meetings.
**No-shows are a recurring problem and continue to adversely affect the LEBC's efforts to manage expenses.**
The Marriott charges the LEBC for all reservations made and not cancelled by noon on the Friday immediately prior to the Luncheon.
