Susan Hoffman, Attorney at Law, Littler Mendelson, will make a presentation on "Professional Responsibility Issues and Answers Specific to Employee Benefits Counsel."
Hoffman is a shareholder with Littler Mendelson and the chair of the firm's ERISA group. She is:
- a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers
- a Charter Fellow of the College of Employment Lawyers and
- a Charter Fellow of the College Benefits Practitioners.
Hoffman concentrates her practice in the areas of:
employee benefits litigation
employee benefits plan design and administration
employment benefits issues in corporate transactions.
She has represented plan sponsors, prototype plan sponsors, institutional trustees and investment managers, employer associations, multi-employer plan trustees and insurers.
Hoffman has served on American Bar Associations committees and task forces involving merger and acquisition issues, prototype plan design, welfare benefit plan regulation and regulation of plan investments.
She is chair of the Fiduciary Responsibility Sub-committee of the ABA's Employee Benefits Committee (Tax Section), and previously served as chair of the ABA's Employee Benefits Committee (Employment Law Section). In addition, she has served as chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association's Employee Benefits Sub-committee (Labor Law Committee).
Hoffman received her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, cum laude, 1974. MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Warton School, with distinction, 1974, and BA from Lake Forest College, with honors, 1970.
