Position Available: Vice President (Training to be 2012 President)

Activities: Will work closely with the PTF President in fundraising, Fall Festival, coordinating Room Moms, etc.

PTF is TAKING NOMINATIONS NOW! There will be nomination boxes at both school desks. You are welcome to nominate yourself or a friend who has expressed a willingness to fill this need.

Please consider serving our children at ECCS!

If you have questions, you may contact our current officers: Traci Allen, Kent Herndon, Karla Long, or Martha Earwood. Thank you, officers, for a wonderful year!

SCRIP FOR TORNADO VICTIMS

In light of the thousands of families displaced from their homes, ECCS will be collecting Walmart and Target gift cards to deliver to needy families trying to put their lives back together in the coming months. Classroom teachers can involve their students in collecting change, grandparents and out of state relatives can send in money for this cause.  Spread the word.  Turn in any money or Walmart/Target orders, or gift cards, at one of the front desks.  Email if you have any concerns, ideas or questions about this.  Visit the ECCS Scrip Program on Facebook or the ECCS Scrip page on the Evangel website for more information.  Monday morning is our first order.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT ECCS FOR 2011-2012

ECCS is looking for part and/or full time faculty for L&R Bible, History, Literature, Latin, Spanish and a 5th Grade Classroom and part-time Grammar Latin teacher for the 2011-2012 school year.  Applications can be picked up from our office or downloaded from the website.

WAYS TO SUPPORT ECCS-Publix

Publix will give a portion of your total grocery or pharmacy bill back to ECCS.  All you have to do is have the cashier swipe the Publix Partners card at the register.  You can pick up cards at either front desk and give some to your family and friends as well!

Volleyball Tryouts

We are pleased to announce the Official Try-out dates for the Girls Volleyball 2011-2012 Team:

April 28 (6-8pm) & April 30 (9-12am) at Shelby Academy*

or May 5 (5:30-8:30pm) if you cannot make the April try-out dates.*

All students must be enrolled for the 2011-2012 Academic Year, and all school fees must be paid and up to date. Coach Carli Linton will be joining us this year. She played as a hitter in high school and worked with us a bit during last year's practices. She is going to make a great hitting coach and will greatly improve our all-around team abilities. *Please bring knee pads & water bottles (it will be hot). We need everyone to keep their hair up and out of the way, you will be wearing number tags on your back. Please arrive 15 minutes early on the first day for sign-in and parent meeting.

Thanks!

Can't wait to see everyone!

and Coach Carli

Don't Miss The Seusodyssey!

The Logic School Drama Club will produce The Seusodyssey, a hilarious rendition of Homer's Odyssey, as it would have sounded had the immortal Dr. Seuss told the story.  The play will be performed on May 6th and 7th.  The May 6th performance is at 7:00, and the May 7th performance is at 2:00.

Parent Meetings to Be Held in May

There will be a meeting for rising 9th graders and their parents on Monday night, May 16.  This meeting will include discussions of topics that are high school specific, such as GPA calculations, required graduation credits, electives, and college admission testing.  Any parents of rising sophomores or juniors who have questions are also invited to join the meeting, though it will be specifically designed for parents of rising freshmen. Both students and parents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting.

There will be a meeting for rising sixth graders and their parents on Tuesday night, May 17.  This meeting will include topics specifically related to the transition to sixth grade and will include specific details about dress code, schedules, lockers, and the sixth grade curriculum.

We hope that all our rising sixth graders and their parents are able to attend.

Both meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the choir suite.

June ACT Registration Deadline May 6
Juniors who have not yet achieved the ACT score they desire and who are not registered to take the test this April are strongly encouraged to sign up for the June 11 ACT test.  The deadline for registration is May 6.  Sophomores who have not yet taken the test (and who are not registered to take it in April) are strongly encouraged to take the June test also.
