PE Uniform Note
It has come to our attention that Logic School students have been borrowing each other's uniforms from one PE class to the next. We have asked the students to stop this practice for hygiene reasons and so that every student will have his or her own uniform when needed. So, Logic School students, please bring your own uniforms for PE classes!
Cell Phone / Laptop Use
Thanks so much to most of our students, who generally do not abuse either the school's cell phone policy or take advantage of the fact that they can use laptops in school. For the sake of clarity, however, as we have had several instances recently of students not being aware of exactly what the rules are, we thought it would be good to refresh everyone on the rules:
Cell phones may not be used for any purpose at any time during the school day. Students may not use their phones to text or call until they are dismissed from school and have exited car line. Student who violate this rule will receive a level two demerit, and the phone will be confiscated and returned to the parent.
Laptops may be used only for purposes specifically designated by and supervised by the faculty. Students may not use their laptops for any non-approved, non-supervised activity, including cyber communication, video playing or recording, game playing, etc. Students who violate this rule will lose the privilege of using their laptops for non testing purposes.
Spirit Day Friday, April 15th, For Logic and Rhetoric School ONLY!
Next Friday, April 15th, is a special L & R Spirit Day. Students may wear this year's Spirit Day t-shirt or their Protocol t-shirt only. Girls and boys may wear knee length Bermuda shorts or jeans. All students should wear closed-toes, closed heel shoes--tennis shoes preferred. The students will have a special afternoon of House Games after our Walk-a-thon Celebration. All students should bring a water bottle or two to have during the games, which will be held outside, weather permitting.
The Importance of Being Earnest, April 14-16
The Class of 2011 will present Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest on April 14-16 in the Evangel gym. This classic British play, which comedically exploits the shallowness that was often found in British aristocratic manners of the turn of the twentieth century, has been delighting audiences since 1895. Premium tickets, which include seats at one of twelve tables, where guest will be served tea and refreshments, are $10.00 and are extremely limited in number. Tickets are now on sale. You can get them from any senior, or you can email Mrs. Bell to reserve your ticket. Student tickets, which do not include table seating, will be on sale for $5.00 as well, but again, we will only be selling a limited number each evening. All tickets will be sold on a first come / first serve basis, and Saturday night tickets are already limited. Please reserve your ticket and join them for an evening of manners, tea, and laughter. All proceeds from the play will go towards the Class of 2011's Senior Gift to the school.
Save the Date
The Logic School Drama Club will produce The Seusodyssey, a hilarious rendition of Homer's Odyssey, as it would have sounded had the immortal Dr. Seuss told the story. The play will be performed on May 6th and 7th. The May 6th performance is at 7:00, and the May 7th performance is at 2:00.
