Employment Opportunities at ECCS for 2011-2012

ECCS is looking for part and/or full time faculty in the humanities (Bible, History, Literature, Latin, and Spanish) and Grammar for the 2011-2012 school year.  Applications can be picked up from our office or downloaded from the website. 

 

CLASS GROUP PICTURES ON SALE NOW!

Order forms for your student(s)' class group picture went home with students today.  You may view the actual class groups in the front offices (L&R upstairs and Grammar downstairs.)  The deadline to order has been extended to Monday, March 28th.  Please disregard the 3/15 due date on the order envelopes.

WALK-A-THON T-SHIRT PROBLEMS   

Some parents have reported problems with the Walk-a-Thon shirts when they are washed.  If the print on your shirt washed off please contact Mark Gainey so he can notify the manufacturer.

SCRIP CHALLENGE

EASY MONEY--COKE REWARDS
Do you drink Dasani water, Fanta or Powerade?  Those bottlecaps also have Coke Rewards codes on them.  You can enter the codes online and choose to donate those points to ECCS (click on the schools tab to search for Evangel) or you can send your caps in to the school and we will enter the points. Our points will allow us to purchase equipment and classroom supplies FREE! 

GET YOUR PICTURES IN THE YEARBOOK
The Yearbook Staff invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you've got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we'd like to see them. Our photographers can't be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.

Here is how you can submit photos online:

   · If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter

   · Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload.
   · Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in
     case the staff needs additional information.
   · Click "Save Details".

It's that easy! Submit your photos today! The last day to submit photos is 5/15/2011.

Inclement Weather Make-up Day

Just a reminder that classes will be in session on Friday, March 11th to make up for the snow day we had in January.

Logic & Rhetoric School Updates

Thanks so much to those of you who came out to hear the Senior Thesis Disputatio this Monday night. The Class of 2011 did an amazing job of presenting and defending their thesis, and they, along with the faculty and staff, have been so encouraged by your positive feedback.  As we end the third quarter of the 2010-2011 school year, our seniors are in the final stages of making decisions about where they will continue their educations.  Thus far, they have accumulated over $800,000 in total scholarship offers, and we are still in prayer for additional scholarships to come in for them.  We ask that you mark your calendars to join them for the remaining big events on their calendar this year:  the Senior Play, which will be on April 14, 15, and 16; Baccalaureate, which will be on Sunday, May 22; and Graduation, which will be on Thursday, May 27. We are so proud of the Class of 2011, and know that you will join us in prayer for them and their future as they begin their last quarter at ECCS.

Protocol Tickets on Sale
Tickets are on sale for the Second Annual Spring Protocol Dance (grades 9-12), which will be held on March 25. Tickets are $40, and will be sold through March 11.  Any parents who would be willing to serve on the Protocol Committee, please email Mrs. Kim Parks (kparks@evangelclassical.org.). Dress for the Protocol is formal.  Guys should wear suits or tuxedos, and girls should wear formal gowns.  The guidelines for the dresses are to ensure modesty--no exposed cleavage at all, no exposed back below the bra line, and no dresses shorter than 1 inch above the knee.  If you have a question about a dress, please don't hesitate to ask, send a picture, etc.  It is especially important for boys who are bringing outside dates to communicate the dress standard to their dates.  We know that dresses that do not fit our standards are easier to find than dresses that do; however, we ask for the support of both our girls and our parents as we strive to meet that higher standard.
    
April ACT Registration Deadline May 6
Juniors who have not yet achieved the ACT score they desire and who are not registered to take the test this April are strongly encouraged to sign up for the June 11 ACT test.  The deadline for registration is May 6.  Sophomores who have not yet taken the test (and who are not registered to take it in April) are strongly encouraged to take the June test also. 
Evangel Mother's Day Out & Preschool Updates

Cookie Dough will not be delivered this week as anticipated.  It will be delivered the week we return from Spring Break.  We will let you know the exact day it will be here the week of the 21st.  We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you.
