RE-ENROLLMENT DATES:

Priority families:      February 7th-February 28th
Open enrollment:    March 1st
Thank you, parents, for the great response to Re-enrollment! We are so excited about the coming year and all that God is doing in the hearts and minds of the students. I recently heard an educator describing classical education. He likened it to building a fire--in the grammar years we gather the wood and strategically place all the pieces, during the logic years the fuel is added, and during the Rhetoric years the fire ignites into a warm and powerful flame for Christ! We hope you will find the joy of building these fires for Christ in partnership with us. We recognize that parents are our NUMBER ONE advertisers! Please let your family, friends, and neighbors know that this is the perfect time to visit our school or web site and find out more about classical and Christian education. Also, thank you so much for your detailed Parent Surveys. They have been very helpful and will inform us as we plan for the coming year. It is our goal to improve year after year. You are a blessing to us.~~Mrs. McKee

SIX FLAGS FOR K5-6TH GRADE READERS!

The Six Flags Read to Succeed program offers free admission tickets to students who complete six hours of recreational reading from now until the deadline of Monday, February 28th.  Those who earn tickets will be awarded their free ticket at Awards Day on the last day of school.

SCRIP IS IN!
Monday orders are in...in fact, ALL scrip orders are now in.  Come and pick them up!  Also, remember the $100 gas card contest.  Spend the most money on Scrip in February and March and win a $100 gift card for FREE gasoline!  Email the Scrip Coordinator if you have any questions.  We're already off to a great start!

WALK-A-THON UPDATE

Parents, please help your children address and mail the brochures or use the online version here.  Please mark your calendars and plan to help transport students to Veterans Park- grammar room moms and Mrs. Parks will be contacting families soon.  Will you help?

Let's make this the most successful Walk-a-Thon ever!

RECOGNITION ADS AVAILABLE FOR YEARBOOK
Do you have a graduating senior? Do you have a 5th grader promoting to Logic school? Do you just want to show your child how special they are? A recognition ad in the Yearbook is a great way to do just that! Recognition ad order forms were sent home last week in Grammar folders and emails to Logic and Rhetoric families. All you need to do is fill out the form and return it to the school with your payment. A Yearbook staffer will contact you to design your ad. Support the Yearbook and your child by purchasing a recognition ad for the 2011 Trivium.

Logic & Rhetoric School Updates
Service Day Drivers Needed
The Beta Club, under the leadership of sponsor Mrs. Martha Earwood is planning a school wide service day for all students grades 6-12 on February 18.  All the students and teachers will go out into the community on various service projects. Students will need to pack a sack lunch.  Please be in prayer for this day to be a blessing to the students and to the community.  This will be a huge organizational effort, and many volunteer drivers will be needed.  We will also need volunteers to coordinate our group snack after the students come back in from their projects.  If you are interested in volunteering to drive or help organize and / or provide for the snack, please email Kim Parks at kparks@evangelclassical.org.  We still need many drivers for the day!

Winter Cotillion Is Here!
The Third Annual Winter Cotillion is here!  Remember that both Logic and Rhetoric School students will be dismissed at 1:00 on Friday, February 11.  Thanks to the many parent volunteers who have worked so hard to plan for the Cotillion.  Please be in prayer that the Cotillion will be a fun and memorable evening for our students and also a time of true growth that gives them the opportunity to strengthen friendships across the grade levels.

Dance, Dance, Dance!
Eighth-twelfth graders are invited to dance lessons each Friday from 3:30-4:30 (Mr. Johnson may run a few of the dance sessions 15 minutes longer to make up for the day we lost week before last.)  We will have the lessons this Friday as well, so if you can make it back to school at 3:30, come dance with us!

Free Replacement of Uniform Shirts
It has come to our attention that some of our rhetoric students' chambray blue mesh polos are fading in bleached steaks and patches in the fabric.  You simply need to contact Lands End to have those shirts replaced at no charge.  Contact DeeDee O'Neal, head of the uniform committee, with any questions for further concerns you may have.
