Christmas PTF Program Thanks
| |
Many thanks to those of you who joined us for "An Evening of Celebration: Songs and Symbols of the Season" last Thursday night. The sanctuary was decorated beautifully by parent volunteers, and the students and faculty worked hard to beautifully present scripture, symbols, celebration, and songs of the Christmas season. The result was a truly worshipful program--one of the loveliest in our eleven year history. Thanks again to all who worked so hard on the program this year, especially the students who, from kindergarten through the senior class, were lights for Christ in this program.

Re-Enrollment Dates and Classical Connection
| |
| ECCS Re-enrollment dates are just around the corner! As you prayerfully consider your educational options for the coming year, we hope you will choose to continue building upon the foundation of a Christian worldview and the Trivium. The classical model of education is a tried and true educational approach which follows the natural development of a child's intellect. It begins with the grammar level by presenting the basic facts and principles of learning. It progresses to the logic level by recognizing the students' ability to reason, their natural curiosity, and the desire for ordering of information. Then it matures into the rhetoric stage where students learn to think critically, integrate information, and communicate effectively. Many parents are looking for just such a model. Please tell your friends and neighbors about ECCS. Invite them to attend our open house "Classical Connection" on the following dates:
Wednesday, January 12th Logic & Rhetoric 8:15-11:00
Thursday, January 13th Grammar 8:00-10:00 Friday, January 14th Grammar 8:00-10:00
We hope each of you will continue your journey with us as we strive to teach Christianly and classically.
Re-enrollment dates are:
Existing families: January 18th-February 7th Priority families: February 7th-February 28th Open enrollment: March 1st
Re-enrollment forms will be sent to all existing families in January. Please be reminded that existing families who wish to apply for Financial Aid for the 2011-12 school year must do so between their enrollment date and April 1st. More information will be forthcoming in January concerning this process. |

Note on Make Up Work
The last make up session of the year will be after school on Friday, December 17th. If any make up work, including any missed exam, is outstanding after that date, it will have to be made up when we return in January. The first make up session in January will be on Wednesday, January 5 if it is needed.
Announcing the Third Annual ECCS Winter Cotillion Formal invitations to the third Annual Winter Cotillion were given to the students this Tuesday. The Cotillion will be held on Friday, February 11 in the Evangel gym. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 that day so that they can rest up and get ready for the evening. Tickets are $30.00 and will cover the costs associated with the event, including a three course meal. Tickets will go on sale on January 4th and must be purchased by January 28th. The event will begin at 6:30 and end at 10:00. Dress for the Cotillion is semi-formal. Girls should wear dresses, and boys needs to wear coats and ties. Dresses should not be too short, too tight, or too revealing in any way. The girls did a wonderful job of choosing their dresses for the Masquerade, and we are confident that they will make good choices for the Cotillion as well.
A note for those students who don't want to have to wait until February for the next dance--you don't have to! The Second Annual Snow Ball, an informal dance sponsored by the International Travel Club, will be held on January 22. More details from the IT Club will be forthcoming when school resumes in January.

The Oracle Still Available | |
Need a Last Minute Christmas Gift? The Oracle is Still Available in the School Office.
Thanks to those of you who turned out for Mrs. Ballstadt's book signing last Thursday night. Copies of The Six and of The Oracle are still available in the school offices for $14.00 each, and they would make great Christmas presents for kids on your list! Also, The Oracle will be added to the list of outside reading options for next semester for L & R students, so any students who want to get a head start on that assignment over the holidays might love a copy. Reviews of The Oracle have been really positive, and we ask that all of you join us in praying that a door of opportunity will open for a publisher to pick up this series. In the meantime, help us spread the word, and once you read the book write a review on Amazon.com. |
