NEED BIRTHDAY GIFT SUGGESTIONS?
What's a friend to do when they receive a birthday party invitation with the request "No Gifts Please"? Some ECCS families have found the perfect gift! By giving a donation to the school's general budget or by choosing a specific area of the school such as the Capital Campaign or Scholarship Fund they are able to give a tax deductible gift in honor of the birthday student! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Anna Herndon and Carrie Johnson--gifts have been given in your honor to the Capital Campaign!

"Think Recycle" for ECCS
We are Excited to Announce a New,Cost-Free Fundraising Program!

"Think Recycle" is a new recycling program ECCS is using to help raise much-needed money for our school. Just collect unwanted cell phones, inkjet and laser cartridges and digital cameras from your homes, offices or the community and place them in the collection boxes at both school entrances.  "Think Recycle" will also donate funds to have one tree planted for every 24 qualifying products we collect!

This will be an ongoing fundraiser, so anytime you have an inkjet cartridge, laser cartridge or cell phone you no longer use, bring it in!  Your place of employment can also support ECCS by donating unwanted cell phones, inkjet and laser cartridges and digital cameras.

Coming soon: recycling of iPods, MP3's and laptop computers! If you would like more information, you can contact Kristi Blackwell at kblackwell@evangelclassical.org or visit www.thinkrecycle.com to learn more about the program.

Grammar Update

Isn't it amazing that we are already well into our second quarter with Thanksgiving just around the corner and the Christmas season well within sight! As we near this mid-point of our year, we want to thank you again for partnering with us in the education of your children! We understand the biblical mandate in Deuteronomy and other passages for parents to teach their children. We are simply here to assist you! Parents have the joy of being the guides, overseers, encouragers, drillers, and homework-checkers! We could not do our daily classroom jobs without your help and encouragement at home--so again, THANK YOU for your partnership in this amazing opportunity we share in teaching children about our Lord and His wonderful creation!

"...the proper aim of giving is to put the recipient in a state where he no longer needs our gift. We feed children in order that they may soon be able to feed themselves; we teach them in order that they may soon not need our teaching. We must aim at making ourselves superfluous. The hour when we can say "They need me no longer" should be our reward." C.S. Lewis

Logic & Rhetoric School Updates
College Bound!
Thanks to all the parents who accompanied the sophomores and juniors to the University of Alabama on Tuesday.  It was a beautiful day, and the students enjoyed seeing the campus.  We do encourage all sophomores to take at least one college day in the spring semester to visit a college or university of their choice, and we encourage the juniors to take at least two college days in the spring.  Please be in prayer for the seniors as they make college decisions.

Athletic Updates

Thanks to everyone who turned out to McAlister's last Friday night.  The cheerleaders are traveling to Dayton today to cheer on the Lightning as they go for their second win and the championship in the tournament.  The team won last night, and play tomorrow at 11:00 for the title.
