Have you ever tried to create your own container garden for the front porch or patio? It's actually very easy and we have everything you need. To the right, you see some container basics, including pansies and trailers. Choose the perfect pot, add an evergreen, plant pansies and some trailing plants and voila, you're done. |

Fun Family Project for Fall: Plant an Herb Garden Indoors
This is a wonderful, simple project that children will love. Simply buy several different varieties of herbs, and select some cute matching pots for them that will fit in your kitchen window. Make sure whatever container you choose has holes in the bottom for good drainage. Most herbs will thrive in a bright sunny window, and you can snip off herbs for cooking. Showing children how to use herbs in food preparation and getting them involved is a wonderful way to share your love for gardening. If you need help with this project, just ask a staff member. | |

Taking the family Christmas card picture can be, well, stressful to say the least. So we invite you to take your picture this year at L.A. Reynolds and join our first annual Christmas card photo contest. Photos will appear in our e-mails and our readers will get to choose their favorites.
