Encore® Azaleas -- great selection available right now
We're wild about Encore Azaleas, and we think you will be too. One of the reasons is their extended blooming season. In fact, we snapped this picture of the Enclore Azaleas blooming away just days ago (early September, mind you!). So if you enjoy azaleas but wish they had more flowers -- try the Encore Azaleas. We think you'll really enjoy them. Available in a large variety of colors. |

All three of these vines have showy blooms or berries at various times during the year. Lady Banks rose will offer spectacular clusters of yellow or white roses (we sell both varieties). Pyracantha is known for wild displays of orange/red berries. Carolina Jasmine produces yellow clusters of flowers from late winter to early spring. All three of these vines are Triad favorites. |
Cool Season Vegetable Gardening - Are You Ready to Give it a Try?
Millions of Americans tried growing their own vegetables this summer, including the folks in the White House. But now it's time to pull up summer plants and put in winter vegetables. Head out to L.A. Reynolds and pick up some seedlings including: brussell sprouts, broccoli, collards and cabbage.
And what should you do with the tomato plants now that the cool weather is coming? Most tomato plants can be pulled up about now. Go ahead and clean off your tomato cages and stakes and store them for next year. If you have any tomatoes that are still green, why not try "fried green tomatoes"? For a recipe, click here. |

Fall Lawn Care: Time to Prep your Lawn for Cold Weather Right now is the time to be focusing on your lawn. Our advice:
- Rake the thatch - rake brown spots to allow the seed to get down to the soil
- Aerate - plug your lawn to let in air and water and promote healthy growth
- Overseed - seed your lawn this time of year. (We sell the top lines of grass seed. If you need help picking the one that's right for your lawn, just ask).
- Apply lime and fertilize. (We have these products in stock including organic brands).
- Water -- make sure your new seed has enough water to grow.
- One last tip: Mow low before you seed and fertilize. Start early, especially if you have shade trees because of falling leaves.
