| Greetings! |
It's May - and graduation time! Three teens that are very close to our heart graduate this month - Cooper Kelsoe, Anna Whited and Stephanie McFall. All three of these young people have given significantly of their time and resources over the past several years - Cooper completed his Eagle Scout project at HFH, and Anna and Stephanie have faithfully babysat at HFH events for the last four years. Congratulations to our very special friends! May this be just the beginning of a fruitful life that honors Jesus. Blessings to you, Mylissa Horrocks for the HFH team |

Core Design Workshop held at HFH
| The
Barn Raising Project kicked off April 12th - 14th with a Design Workshop. We brought in a very talented design team to help us create the best master plan possible for our site. Three days of intense work by the team brought about some outstanding ideas! Tuesday night we hosted a dinner in honor of our special friends, and heard from long-time Habitat for Hope parent Brandi Beamon. Brandi shared her journey with her daughter Madelyn, who battled cancer for four years. Speaking of the role that HFH staff played during that time, she said, "The spiritual support and care we were given eased our journey immensely." Habitat for Hope housed the Beamons for 18 months, so Brandi also feels personally connected to the buildout of the HFH property. "Families like ours will be so blessed by these homes," she says. "They will find shelter, but even more so, love, compassion and relationship." The design team will be working on refining
the plan and creating a Vision Document over the next 2 months. Once this
is complete, planning will begin for the Architecture Workshop which will be
held sometime this fall. Please check the The Barn Raising Project for the most up to date information.

HFH serves LeBonheur families as part of Adopt-a-Floor program
|
Habitat for Hope has recently "adopted" four
units at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. This allows us the privilege of serving the parents,
patients, and staff by hosting events, caring for families and donating towards each unit's
non-medical needs. On Friday evening,
April 23rd, HFH staff and volunteers hosted a parents' event on 5 South (the neurology unit). We fed the parents "Memphis
Style" with some barbeque, baked beans, cole slaw, and home made
brownies. It was a blessing serving a such a valuable portion of
LeBonheur that evening. Habitat for Hope Volunteer Coordinator Becky Davis says that the staff and families seem to enjoy this element of our service. "It has been a joy working with Volunteer Services on the Adopt-a-Floor program!" Over the next 5 months, we have several of these events scheduled. This is a great way to get involved with Habitat for Hope! Contact Becky for more information or to help with this program.
