United Way of Greater Knoxville Announces 2009 Campaign Plans
Campaign Kicks Off with September 11 Day of Service. |
United Way of Greater Knoxville is inviting you to LIVE UNITED™ as it sets the stage for an unprecedented 2009 campaign that encompasses more giving opportunities than ever before. Everyone has been touched in one way or another by the effects of our declined economy. Therefore, more and more citizens are turning to United Way for assistance while many others are looking for alternative ways to give support when they have also had to tighten their budget to make ends meet. Knoxville-based Scripps Networks' President, John Lansing, is this year's United Way Campaign Chair. He has assembled a large team of creative minds to implement an extraordinary experience to increase awareness in our area so United Way can help fulfill the diverse needs of our community. "I'm honored to be assisting with this year's United Way campaign," said Lansing. "The strength of our community is measured by our willingness to reach out to one another in a time of need, and Knoxville is known for its supportive culture. It is no small wonder, as this is the home of Volunteer Spirit after all! I'm looking forward to seeing that spirit come alive throughout this year's United Way campaign."
