Vacant properties for the SOHI District means blight, vandalism and nusiance to the local community. The "Reclaiming Vacant Properties" conference in Louisville, KY attended by Officer Ryan McNichol, John Connelly and Renee Booker was an opportunity to share Milwaukee's successes and challenges with this nation wide crisis.

Corn beef so good, make's you wanna dance!
Maybe you've been really busy or just forgot however, everyone is talking about the delicious corn beef, pulled pork and chicken salad sandwiches at Izzy's. There's also fried wings and hush puppies. For you healthy folks out there Izzy's offers Cobb, Caesar and Chef salads with the option of sauteed chicken or shrimp. Izzy's also serves breakfast all day!

 Let's celebrate the end of summer in style this year at SOHI Saturday on Saturday, September 19th on 27th & State. Jazz musician, James Dallas with DanceCircus, Xalaat Africa Dance Company and Greater Utopian Church Gospel Choir will perform. Barbecue and corn on the cobb are on the menu. New this year will be our very own tacos and burritos vendor, Tortas Gigantes La Preferida! |

 The ACRE Program application is now online for candidates interested in participating in the Class of 2010. The program will take place during the Spring 2010 semester (January-May) and the application is available via online.

Please Be Patience!
Much needed street construction has hindered many commuters driving into SOHI. This has led to decreasing traffic on State Street starting from 17th ending at 27th Street. I encourage you to continue to support our local businesses as we work to improve our neighborhood infrastructure.
