SUCCESS STORYSuccess

Because of your support, children and families are served every day. Here's one success story from Sierra Vista Child and Family Services' Youth Leadership Corps program.

The greatest success is the energy and enthusiasm the youth leaders have brought to the center in such a short period of time .They have been very excited to be given the opportunity to plan and develop activities and community service projects. They also worked during the winter holiday break from school. The most challenging task has been to whittle the ideas down into doable projects in manageable amounts of time. One small project was painting a small tree mural on the wall inside the drop-in center. The tree not only decorates the small children's play area, but serves as a metaphor for life. Parents write life goals on a paper leaf and tape them to the tree. They then review progress throughout the year. Before it was just a butcher paper cutout of a tree. Now there is something permanent for people to use and enjoy.
It's easy to make a buck. It's a lot tougher to make a difference.
