GALLO MANAGERS
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
|
 | |
Maris Sturtevant, Director of Operations at the United Samaritans Foundation, presents an overview of the work at USF to Gallo IS managers.
|
On June 24, 35 Gallo Information Systems (IS) managers volunteered their support for a United Way Partner Agency, the United Samaritans Foundation in Turlock.
Gallo IS Managers helped sort canned food, packed pudding and jello cups into crates, prepared boxes of food for that day's Emergency Food Boxes, and helped sort clothes for USF's free clothes closet.
A special thank you goes to Gallo and its employees for their ongoing support of United Way of Stanislaus County and our Partner Agencies.

WE'RE READY FOR THE NEXT DISASTER | |
In July, the staffs from United Way of Stanislaus County, Advancing Vibrant Communities and CaliforniaVolunteeers participated in more than 30 hours of instruction in the Incident Command System (ICS).
This training will help us play an important role in recruiting, interviewing, and referring volunteers in the event of a disaster of flood, earthquake, or terrorist attack. Rest assured, your United Way staffers are ready when disaster strikes!

| THANKS FOR S.H.A.R.E.ing | |
Many people already use SHARES Cards to make a difference in our community. The cards are free and the process is simple. When you shop at Save Mart or Food Maxx, ask the cashier to swipe your SHARES Card at the register. Three percent of your purchase will support programs funded by the United Way of Stanislaus County.
Every three months the Save Mart and Food Maxx corporate offices send us a check reflecting the amount earned for the United Way through SHARES purchases. We are proud to announce that our last check was $566.39! Thank you for using your SHARES Card to support our work! And a very special thanks to Save Mart Supermarkets for supporting the United Way and our community. *If you do not have a SHARES Card, contact Christopher at 523-4562 ext. 124 or cscott@uwaystan.org and he will send you one, or two!
