Happy New Year!!

Looking back on events of the past year we are excited about the growth in the movement towards sustainability, yet we have also been upset by events such as the Gulf oil spill, the flooding of nations and the consistent rise in unemployment. Times have been tough for many this year, and to support those in need and fight for the changes this world needs EarthShift has made a donation towards two charities, Feeding America and The Nature Conservancy, who we feel share in our vision of a healthy world supporting healthy people.

Now Offering Classes in Seattle, WA

LCA training is now more accessible than ever as Earthshift is now offering our most requested Intro to LCA in SimaPro class as well as our Advanced LCA Modeling and Advanced LCA Interpretation classes in Seattle, WA. The first Intro class is coming up on March 10 & 11- sign up now!

Introducing Consequential LCA on-site seminars

As any LCA professional knows, "you never stop learning", and EarthShift is here to help you try and stay one step ahead. This June we are offering a new course series made up of three new seminars all taught by LCA renowned professional, Bo Weidema:

Consequential LCA: Understanding the consequence of change

a one day introduction to consequential Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology along with the knowledge to manage and communicate projects and interpret reports

Consequential LCA: hands on

a two day course to provide participants with the knowledge to perform a consequential Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study

New Frontiers in LCA

a one day interactive seminar intended as a day of discussion and learning about new ideas being developed in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

The seminars will be held repectively on June 14, 15&16 and 17. Take one or take all, don't miss out on this opportunity!

Learn to integrate LCA into Packaging Design!

EarthShift's training manager, Laurel McEwen, will be leading a pre-conference workshop on Integrating LCA Metrics into Sustainable Packaging Initiatives on February 22 at this year's Sustainability in Packaging show.

The Workshop will have attendees working in small groups to disassemble a package bought at a local store, and then build an LCA model of it using our simplified web based LCA tool, PackageSmart. As you work, there will be discussion and lecture breaks where teachers will cover import aspects of LCA modeling such as functional unit, impact assessment, life cycle inventory and end of life modeling.

LCA Training Certification Program

Our multi-step LCA certification program is designed to couple LCA modeling skills with LCA interpretation and report writing skills. Through a series of online or on-site classes students will become highly competent in performing, managing and communicating Life Cycle Assessments.
