With a year ending and a new year approaching, EarthShift has been busy. Here's a little of what we have been up to:
First off we are proud to announce that through collaboration and hard work we are now able to provide our SimaPro and Ecoinvent owners with a new combined US LCI & Americanized-Ecoinvent dataset, known in SimaPro as "US-EI library" containing 4,375 processes.

This dataset is free of charge for Ecoinvent v2 owners with a current SimaPro service contract.
It was built to replace the 178 dummy processes in the US LCI database with relevant Ecoinvent processes as well as replace the European electricity in the Ecoinvent unit processes with US electricity, providing SimaPro users with the largest selection of US data yet! Get more details...

With the green movement sweeping the globe and nations imposing environmental regulations, corporations are finding that LCA is critical to a healthy triple bottom line.

- In January 2011 all high volume consumer products sold in France must have an Environmental Product Declaration or EPD and a consumer information label?
- The French EPD model is likely to be adopted in some form or fashion around the world.
- Japan is already pursuing a national carbon labeling program for all products sold in that country.
