New Year's Resolutions: Increasing Energy and Resolve, by Dr. Amy Rothenberg, ND, DHANP
Here's a recent snapshot of me and my college aged daughter, Sophie. We're sitting up on the continential divide in Colorado, enjoying the snow topped mountains even though it was the middle of summer. Our health is a product of our genetic inheritance, our lifestyle choices and the environment in which we live, work, and play. Because we cannot alter our genetic inheritance (at least at this time!), our best bets are to choose wisely in the way we live and to minimize our exposure to environmental toxins in our food, water, and air. Other, less measurable "toxins" that are also best limited include negative thinking and unconstructive responses to stress.
We frequently see patients who stay in unsupportive relationships or unsatisfying jobs that may add to the maintaining causes of the pathology that brings them into the practitioner's office. Sometimes when I see a patient, I think, "This person doesn't just need a natural medicine doctor, they need a whole new living environment!!"

NEW NESH 8 Weekend Certificate Course Beginning January 2010 in the Seattle, WA area
This course is designed for both the beginner and more experienced homeopaths. We have designed, practiced and taught an effective, integrated approach to understanding classical homeopathy called Cycles and Segments. This approach informs all aspects of practice; it is an effective tool which allows us to focus case-taking and offers a practical way of organizing and analyzing information. It allows for the satisfying study of materia medica which is deep, integrated and satisfying.
