We are all looking forward to the Desert Quilters of Nevada, 20th Annual Las Vegas Quilt Show entitled "New Beginnings". This year the quilt show will be held March 19th, 20th and 21st 2010 at the Henderson Convention Center. Quilt show entries will be due by February 27th so get quiltin' if you plan on submitting an entry (Quilt Show Registration Booklet here).  Rain, Rain go away.....NO WAY! It has been such a nice change to see the rain outside. Good golly do we need it here in Las Vegas!
The rain is perfect sewin' weather so I hope you are "socked" in where you are getting some of those UFO's finished. But if you can brave the drizzle, head on over our way as we sure do have some beautiful new fabrics and goodies for you to enjoy.

Pillowcase Challenge
Saturday, February 6th!

 Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference
We have some good times in store for you all as we join others across the nation in the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge from American Patchwork & Quilting. This is a yearlong challenge to create and donate one million pillowcases to local charities across the country. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.
On Saturday, February 6th, Quiltique will host Sew-Perbowl Saturday. Wear the jersey of your favorite football team and we'll divide into teams at the start of this six-hour Sew-perbowl. Here's the scoring system for our game: 7 pillowcases equals 1 Touchdown and 3 pillowcases will equal one Field Goal. The team with the most points will WIN all the pillowcases made that day and will get to choose the charity of their choice to donate them all to. Plus we will have a bonus for the individual who sews the most pillowcases - Fat Quarters of their choice equal to their point total. Bring your own fabric from your "stash" or Quiltique will offer 40% off fabric needed to sew these pillowcases that day. We will serve chili, nachos and other football favorites to keep your energy up.
Quiltique will have a bin in the shop all year long to collect pillowcases that you sew at home. Fill out the card each time you drop them off so that we can recognize you for your generosity.
