As many of you may know, Tara Whitt is leaving the Chamber to stay home with her 8-month old baby boy, Brecken. She has worked for the Chamber for approximately three years and Her last day is today.

Join Dr. Mindy Ewert from Derby Chiropractic for a "Stretch with Doc" session on December 29 from 5:45-6:30 p.m. Learn stretches that will target common problem areas related to back and neck pain, as well as hip, shoulder, and knee issues. These are need-to-know stretches, good for all ages, wonderful in preventing common musculoskeletal conditions. Please RSVP to Dr. Mindy at 788-7500, space is limited. Bring your yoga mat and comfy clothes. Looking for a place to recycle your Christmas tree after the holidays are over? The High Park Chip Site at 2700 E. Madison (northwest corner of the park) will accept your undecorated tree. Only Christmas trees will be accepted during this time. Wal-Mart is going to be giving away $1 Million to an area food bank and the decision will be based on the public going to the following website and voting. Go to this Web site and vote by December 31!
The City of Derby received a "Working Well" award from the Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita for its employee wellness program. The award recognizes employers who demonstrate supportive and rewarding environments for employees to make positive healthy lifestyle changes. Award winners serve as model programs for other employers in the area.

The Chamber kicked off a new holiday campaign this year to encourage businesses to line their buildings, windows or trees in green LED lights as a display of community pride.
LED lights promote energy savings and the color green is to remind everyone to "Keep the Green $$ in Derby" this holiday season. Please support your local merchants and Chamber member businesses!
