MDAC is recruiting staff!

Thanks to a generous grant by Zennström Philanthropies, MDAC is expanding its programming and is searching for two new staff members.

MDAC seeks a Legal Officer (Legal Capacity). The post-holder will manage a project which will make available information on the right to legal capacity law reform in Europe. The post-holder will provide technical assistance to governments undertaking legal capacity law reform and build the capacity of civil society actors to participate in these processes. For more information and to download an application pack, click here. Application deadline 15 February 2010.

MDAC seeks a Policy and Advocacy Officer (Detention Monitoring). The post-holder will manage a watchdog project to assess the effectiveness of independent inspectorates of mental health and social care institutions in Europe. The post-holder will work with a selected number of inspectorates directly to strengthen their capacity in fulfilling their mandate to prevent torture, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment in such institutions. Also a reminder that MDAC is seeking volunteer Board Members. We are especially interested in receiving applications from Hungarians with financial expertise to MDAC's treasurer. For more information click here. Application deadline 22 January 2010.

We would be grateful if you could distribute these vacancies throughout your network.

Many thanks,
