Becky's School of Dance Performance

Graduate Excel and Accounting Skills Workshop
Bluffton University invites professionals to enroll in its Graduate Excel and Accounting Skills Workshop, which is designed to strengthen Excel skills and develop some understanding of core financial statements. Specifically, the workshop provides an introduction to business use of Excel functions and capabilities within the context of the basic needs of the manager. The workshop will meet from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays, July 10, 17 and 24 in Centennial Hall at Bluffton University. Cost for the workshop is $125. The American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter - Armed Forces Family Network Picnic

Community Gallery at the Toledo Museum of Art
The talents of artists from the Findlay area will be on display from now through July 19 in the Community Gallery at the Toledo Museum of Art. An artists' reception will be held on Friday, July 13 from 7-9 p.m. with comments and awards at 7:15 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. TENNIS TOURNAMENT FOR RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF
The Findlay Tennis Association is hosting the 7th Annual Dick Schaefer Memorial Tennis Tournament June 8-10 at The University of Findlay Russ and Peg Armstrong Sports Complex, 1600 N. Blanchard in Findlay. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit disaster relief services of the American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter. Registration is $25 per person for first event, $20 for second event. Entry forms are available online at www.findlaytennisassociation.com and www.hancockredcross.org. Go Casual for the Red Cross
Go Casual for the Red Cross is a fun way to support the American Red Cross, while building camaraderie among employees. Participation is easy! Pick a day for your Go Casual campaign. Then, on Go Casual day, allow your employees to purchase a Go Casual for the Red Cross sticker - you set the price for participation, but we recommend $1, $3, or $5. All the supplies you need will be provided - stickers, posters, collection boxes and informational brochures about Red Cross services. You just collect the donations. Fun with Fossils
Advanced registration required. Become a junior paleontologist with our Fun with Fossils program on Saturday, May 19, at 2pm at the "Doc" Phillips Discovery Center at Oakwoods Nature Preserve. This is a program for children ages 6-9 only and their adult companion. Register with $3 per child by Wednesday, May 16. Oakwoods Nature Preserve is located west of Findlay at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, on County Road 144 and West Sandusky Street. Telescopes 101
Don Trinko, of the Millstream Astronomy Club will be presenting a program on telescopes for beginners on Saturday, May 19 at 9pm. He'll talk about all the different types of telescopes and telescope mounts if you are just starting out. The Lily Family
We'll be having an open house on The Lily Family on Sunday, May 20 from 1-4pm. The open house will take place at the Oakwoods Nature Preserve, inside the "Doc" Phillips Discovery Center located at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, off West Sandusky Street off CR 144 west of Findlay. Lilies and trilliums are a part of this family, but did you know that onions and garlic are, too? Come see some examples of this family and which ones might be found in this area. QUILTING BEE TO BE HELD AT MCKINNIS HOUSE
The Hancock Park District is offering the program "Quilting" on Sunday, May 20 at the McKinnis House. This free public program will focus on quilting and begins promptly at 1:30pm and lasts until 4:30pm. Litzenberg Memorial Woods located at 6100 US 224, 6 miles west of Findlay. The site is handicap accessible with restrooms available inside the Activity Barn. Wee Ones: Flower
Join us at this month's Wee Ones - Flowers which take place on Monday, May 21 at 10am and 1pm. It's recommended for children three years old and under with an adult companion. Other aged siblings are welcome to attend. Program includes a story, activities and a craft all about flowers. Community Foundation Announces Grant Deadlines
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation has announced that letters of intent for the next competitive grant cycle are due Friday, July 6. All potential grant applicants are required to submit a letter of intent no less than sixty (60) days prior to the grant application deadline. The next competitive grant application deadline is Friday, September 7 for review at the November board of trustees meeting. Grant proposals are reviewed four times a year by the Community Foundation board of trustees. 2012 W.R.I.T.E. Grant Winners
Friends Business Source (FBS) selects five educators to receive $1200 in grant monies for school supplies from their 2012 catalog through their "We Reward Innovative Teaching Endeavors" (W.R.I.T.E.) Grant Program. The winner of the $500 grant in school, classroom and office related supplies is Jill Radler, 7 through 12 grade Special Education Intermediate Autism teacher at Ottawa-Glandorf High School in Ottawa, Ohio and employed by the Putnam County ESC. The W.R.I.T.E. Grant Program is an annual grant awarded to current teachers who apply. It is not a program associated with any government or public entities. ZONTA LANDING BOAT RENTALS OPENS FOR THE 2012 SEASON - SATURDAY, MAY 26
Hancock Park District's Zonta Landing Boat Rental Concession opens for the 2012 season Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28. Normal hours of operation at the boat livery are weekends and holidays, 1 to 7pm, through Labor Day, Monday, September 3. A coupon can be downloaded on-line at www.HancockParks.com under the Recreation session and redeemed at the HPD concession during regular open hours. Dueling Pianos Fundraiser for Special Kids Therapy

RED CROSS AIDING CENTER STREET FAMILY
A Findlay family is receiving help from the American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter following a fire in their Center Street home on Tuesday. The Red Cross will continue to aid the family with help for immediate needs and information, resources and referrals for their long term recovery. All Red Cross disaster relief is provided free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the American people.
