Bridge Hospice Offering Forever Memories Scrapbook Group
Bridge Hospice is forming a support group focused on loss, grief and healing through the creation of scrapbooks. The group will meet Wednesday,11, 18 and 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Birchaven Village Chapel, Findlay. The Forever Memories Scrapbook Group is free and open to the public. Blanchard Valley Hospital's Woman Wise Mammography Receives Grant
Blanchard Valley Hospital's Woman Wise Mammography Department has received a grant in the amount of $3,590 from the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. The grant will be used for the purchase of 200 copies of "Your Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook" for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. The book empowers patients with a better understanding of their disease, available treatments and tools for recovery. Women Wise Mammography is located at EasternWoods Outpatient Center in Findlay.
Blanchard Valley Regional Cancer Center Receives Accreditation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons
Blanchard Valley Regional Cancer Center (BVRCC) has been awarded a three-year accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons.
The accreditation demonstrates expertise and dedication to quality patient care by meeting a set of standards and completing an on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor. Accreditation by the CoC is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
ARCHAEOLOGIST DR. DAVID BUSH TO GIVE PRESENTATION ON JOHNSON'S ISLAND

4th Annual Mother Nature Tea on Feb.6th at the Brugeman Lodge in Riverbend Recreation Area. Tea Times are available at 9:30am, 11am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm. Town Money Saver celebrates it's 20th Anniversary
Town Money Saver celebrates it's 20th Anniversary. In January of 1992 the first Town Money Saver loaded with great local deals was mailed to every home in Oberlin Ohio. Since that first mailing TMS has grown to become the largest monthly direct mailer in Ohio. Now servicing 156 markets throughout Ohio and mailing to 2.4 million homes and businesses every month. 2011 was TMS best year and 2012 is projected to outperform 2011.

The Halt Hunger Initiative, in conjunction with Community Gardens of Hancock County and the Findlay YMCA, is holding a two-part special event in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Day on Monday, Jan. 16 at the Findlay YMCA, 300 E. Lincoln St., Findlay, OH. The community is invited to bring canned goods or nonperishable food items to the Findlay YMCA between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Jan. 16. Bridge Bereavement Services to Offer "Understanding Grief" Workshop
Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a three-hour workshop for understanding grief on Thursday, January 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at Birchaven Village, Findlay. The event is for individuals 18 years of age and older and is open to the public. This will help participants learn more about the grief process and give spiritual actions that will aid in healing. Bluffton's Cohort-based Organizational Management Program (BCOMP)
Bluffton University offers a bachelor degree-completion program in organizational management on the Findlay campus of Owens Community College. Bluffton's Cohort-based Organizational Management Program (BCOMP) may be completed in four semesters, meeting one night a week from 6-10 p.m. Bluffton also offers a Master of Business Administration, MBA with health care concentration, or Master of Arts in Organizational Management. These degree programs are also designed for working adults who attend class one night a week for four semesters. BIRD MONITORING Beginning in Hancock County
New this year, Hancock Park District will be starting a monthly outdoor bird monitoring program. Join Bob Sams, Natural Resource Assistant Friday, January 13 at 1pm for the first monitoring session. Participants should meet at by the Gatehouse at Litzenberg Memorial Woods.

Winter Tracks
Come learn more about animal tracks with Program Assistant Chris Allen at our Discovery Center in Oakwood Nature Preserve. Open House will be Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 1-4pm.
Have fun becoming a tracking sleuth. Children's story will begin at 1:00pm with a short hike to look for tracks to follow. Celebrity Server Week
United Way of Hancock County will be hosting an event to celebrate the good work of this year's fundraising campaign. The community is invited to participate in the 3rd annual Celebrity Server Week January 16 through 20 at 9 different locations throughout the community. The public is invited to patronize the following establishments and get served by local leaders who Live United. All events are open to the public and payment is on your own. No RSVP required. Although this event is not designated as a fundraiser, tips will be accepted. We are sure that there will be a desire to give to the cause after seeing these celebrities in action! SEVERE WINTER WEATHER PREPAREDNESS TRAINING ARMED FORCES FAMILY NETWORK MEETING
Severe winter weather preparedness training will be offered to local service members, military families and veterans at the January meeting of the Red Cross Armed Forces Family Network. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 19 at the Red Cross office, 125 Fair St. in Findlay. Informational meeting for new military family members scheduled
Thursday, January 19th at the Red Cross office there will be a New Military Family Member Orientation at 6 p.m. The orientation is open to anyone who has a family member serving in the military - spouses, parents, grandparents and siblings. Free child care and will be provided during the orientation and attendees are invited to stay for the Armed Forces Family Network meeting. Pre-registration is required by January 16. Hunger Summit

The goal of the upcoming Hunger Summit is to get input from attendees about ways to support the four goals of the Halt Hunger Initiative. The Halt Hunger Initiative advisory board worked collectively to refine and validate four preliminary goals.
