The Findlay∙Hancock County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the launch of its new publication website at villageprofile.com/ohio/findlay. This interactive site features the editorial, pictures and design elements of the Alliance's recently published, full-color community map. Included on the publication website are links to the Alliance website, the publication's advertiser directory and the online map directory, which utilizes the Google Maps tool to pinpoint businesses, provide contact information and link directly to business websites. The searchable online map directory is downloadable to computer desktops and on-the-go via most wireless, web-enabled devices - generating added Alliance, business and community exposure to a worldwide audience, anytime, anywhere. The community map is interactive at www.vpmobile.us via PDAs, smartphones, web-enabled cell phones, and most other mobile devices.
In addition, with all new programs started as of August 2010, Village ProfileŽ now offers a user-friendly smartphone app, accessible via iPhone and Android platforms. This, once again, is an extension of Village Profile's enhanced connectivity not offered anywhere else in the publishing industry. The All American Girl Party A Cultural Enrichment Program!
Friday, August 5, 2011, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at The Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center, 817 Harmon Street, Findlay OH. "The All American Girl Party" is a fun and exciting program for girls age 5 and older. The program will feature a Victorian Tea Party facilitated by Findlay's SWAN House Tearoom. The activity is $15 per child which includes a chance to win a Brand New American Girl doll. Handbags That Help women's giving circle members and new members who wish to participate in the annual Interest Inventory survey are reminded to submit their 2011-2012 membership contribution and registration form by July 15, 2011. LOCAL RED CROSS VOLUNTEER JOINING DISASTER RELIEF OPERATION IN MONTANA Darlene Baney, a volunteer with the American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter, is joining the Red Cross disaster relief operation currently underway in Bozeman, Montana. The Red Cross responded to major flooding in Montana several weeks ago and is continuing to provide relief to the victims of the flooding. Those wishing to support the Red Cross please consider making a donation today to help the thousands of people who have been affected by the disasters of the last several months and those which may occur as the 2011 hurricane season gets underway. YOUTHEATRE PERFORMING ARTS CAMP PRESENTS CINDERELLA
The Arts Partnership of Greater Hancock County invites you to attend Youtheatre's Summer Performing Arts Camp production of Cinderella. Performances are on July 15 at 7 p.m. and July 16 at 4 p.m. in the Great Room at First Presbyterian Church, located at 2330 South Main Street, Findlay. Concerns about blood supply increase approaching July 4
Although many people have donated blood to help with the critically low local supply, significantly more blood donors are urgently needed as soon as possible. The local American Red Cross is unable to fill all hospital requests in a timely manner, particularly for types O negative, A negative and B negative. BUSINESSES STEP UP TO SUPPORT RED CROSS BY DRESSING DOWN
The American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter encourages area businesses to 'Go Casual for the Red Cross.' "A lot of businesses hold casual or dress down day fundraisers with their employees," says Executive Director Todd James. "We are asking companies to consider making us the beneficiary of one of their casual days, and we've put together all the materials they need to make it easy for them to help the Red Cross." This is a fun and easy way to show support for Red Cross services in our community." The Hancock Park District is offering the program "The Pennsylvania Dutch 'Hex Sign': A Barn Art with a Past" on Friday, July 15 at the Litzenberg Memorial Woods Activity Barn. This special program is lead by living history interpreters Lisa Hursey and Ron Burnett. The program starts at 6:30pm and lasts until 8:30pm. The Hancock Park District will be offering an evening plant seminar "Looking for Natives" on Tuesday, July 19 from 7pm to 8:30pm at Riverbend Recreation Area, Lodge.
Come learn how to ID native grasses and forbs (flower) species, their habitats, and seed collection techniques. If you are unable to attend this evening, but have or know a possible location, want to be a seed collection volunteer, or want more information about this process, please contact Sarah Betts, Natural Resource Coordinator, at sbetts@hancockparks.com. This program qualifies for Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist credit hours. No registration required.

Three local American Red Cross volunteers are joining the Red Cross response to major flooding in North Dakota.
