Networking Tip: "The Conversation Ball" Courtesy of Debby Peters, Certified Networker, debby@certifiednetworker.comSome
people worry about what to say during a networking event when they are
meeting others. They feel
conversation challenged. It's not difficult at all. Most of us like to talk about what we
do. In fact, we all probably get a
big smile on our face when someone asks us that very question. You won't have to worry about the
conversation ball, when during a networking business setting, you ask,
"Tell me a little bit about your job." The next part of the process is just
listening - really listening to what this person says. They will give you clues about how you
might be able to help them.
Debby Peters at Business 2 Business Networking-Sept. 10Business to Business networking resumes on September 10, 2009 at Owens Community College. Debby Peters, Certified Networker, will begin the event with a brief "Networking Etiquette" presentation beginning at 8 a.m. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to meet up to 20 business professionals, one-on-one, in 5 minute increments. This fast-paced networking event gives you the opportunity to make new business contacts, pass on helpful referrals and increase your company's exposure in the Greater Findlay region. Cost is $15 per person for GFI members and $20 for non-members. Check and cash payment will be accepted at the door. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance; substitutions allowed. RSVP at 419-422-3313 or rsvp@greaterfindlayinc.com.
