 The Northern Illinois Conference will welcome two missionaries in September and October. Larry Kies is currently serving as a farm manager for Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe.
Helen Roberts-Evans is a missionary of the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, serving as Director of the Department of General Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church in Liberia.

Baptism by the Beach

On a bright, sunny Sunday morning this past Labor Day weekend, about 60 people gathered along the beachfront at Crystal Lake for worship and a renewal of baptism. Twelve people, both young and old, from Nueva Vida UMC in Aurora were baptized through immersion. Bishop Sally Dyck, newly assigned to the Northern Illinois Conference officiated the service along with Rev. Martin Lee, Elgin District Superintendent Oscar Carrasco and Nueva Vida Lay Missioner Martin Lopez. Read the full story>> |

 United Voices for Children urges all Northern Illinois Conference churches to join in the National Observance of Children's Sabbaths® weekend, October 19 - 21. The Children's Sabbaths brings together Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Bahá'í communities, as well as multi-faith coalitions that will lift up children in need and answer their own faith tradition's call to pursue justice, mercy, and compassion. |
