UM Foundation Stewardship Conference - Great Expectations
|
 | Rev. Dr. Clayton Smith |
More than 420 people participated in the 9th annual United Methodist Foundation Stewardship Conference on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Barrington UMC.
Presenter Rev. Dr. Clayton Smith, the Exec. Pastor of Generosity with the UM Church of Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, challenged participants to do at least one thing to create great expectations in their congregations in one of four ways: by inspiring vision, innovating new ministries, igniting leadership change and improving generosity.
"Everybody needs expectations," said Smith. "Generosity is a part of discipleship and we need to emphasize that giving is an act of faith."
