North Central Jurisdictional Conference

We thank our delegation and other NIC leaders who attended the North Central Jurisdictional Conference in Akron, Ohio from July 18-20.

Besides the announcement of the Episcopal assignment, a motion with some language constructed by NIC delegate Lonnie Chafin, was made and carried to develop online dialogue and a task force focused on the nature and mission of jurisdictions.

The final act of business was to approve the $1,117,300 North Central Jurisdiction budget for 2013-16. The 2016 NCJ conference will be held in Peoria, IL.

first umc arlington heights

First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights just returned from a week of service in Magoffin County, Kentucky as part of the Appalachia Service Project (ASP).

Sixteen youth and six adults traveled to Magoffin County to work on a wide variety of projects ranging from porch building to drywall hanging.  In between work and reflection,  there was even a chance to enjoy ice cream at the local Dairy Queen.

This is FUMCAH's 40th year to participate in ASP.  FUMCAH youth gather every Sunday from 6:30 to 8pm at 1903 East Euclid in Arlington Heights.  For more information about the youth program, ASP at FUMCAH, or the church, please contact Will Green at w.green@fumcah.com.
