| UM VIM Trip to Bolivia Planned
The Northern Illinois Conference (NIC) is offering a UM VIM trip to Bolivia beginning July 31 through August 14, 2012. The emphasis of the trip is beginning construction of a Resource Center for Leadership within the Ancoraimes District of the Iglesia Evangelica Metodista de Bolivia (IEMB) Church.

Annual Conference Registration Open

Online Registration is Open -Click HereThe cost is $56 until May 13. Beginning May 14 the cost will be $75. All online and mail-in registrations must be complete (to the office by May 28). An abbreviated calendar is now available on our website www.umcnic.org/AC2012. This is subject to change, so check back for a detailed daily schedule. Make your reservations with Pheasant Run before May 5. At that time Pheasant Run will release rooms to other guests! Rooms are still available under the NIC block - note the Tower is sold out - rooms are available in the courtyard wing of the resort. The cost is a special negotiated rate of $102 + 11% tax for a total of $113.22 per night.
To get this rate by phone, call 630-584-6300 and tell the clerk that you are part of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Golden Cross Sunday- May 6
| The Churches of the Northern Illinois Conference will observe Gold Cross Sunday on the First Sunday in May, (5/6/2012) by collecting a special offering. In the NIC the offering is used to support the needs of Older Adults, including providing scholarships to employees of the agencies participating in the Older Adult Council, who is pursuing education for a career in older adult services.
Envelopes for this offering were sent to every NIC church. If additional envelopes are needed, please use standard blank envelopes if possible.

Concert to Benefit Retired Filipino Clergy
|
"Great is Thy Faithfulness," a dinner concert by the Granadosin Brothers, will be held May 12 at 5pm at Glenview UMC, 727 Harlem Ave., Glenview, IL. In line with the Central Conference Pension Initiative, this concert will help create a stable retirement fund for Filipino Clergy who currently have no retirement fund.
It is sponsored by Glenview UMC, endorsed by the General Board of Pensions in Cooperation with the Filipino-American United Methodist Ministry of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church. Concert tickets are at $12 (adults) and $5 (children).
