UM VIM Trip to Bolivia Planned
The Northern Illinois Conference (NIC) is offering a UM VIM trip to Bolivia beginning July 31 through August 14, 2012. The emphasis of the trip is beginning construction of a Resource Center for Leadership within the Ancoraimes District of the Iglesia Evangelica Metodista de Bolivia (IEMB) Church.

General Conference Begins April 24
|
 Please keep in your prayers the Northern Illinois Conference delegation as they prepare to attend the 2012 General Conference in Tampa, Fla. next week. More than 50 people gathered at First UMC in Elmhurst last Sunday for worship and to send off the delegates. Bishop Hee-Soo Jung offered a special blessing to the delegation reminding each one that God is with them as they face the challenging and important work ahead of them for the church. Online Registration is Open -Click HereThe cost is $56 until May 13. Beginning May 14 the cost will be $75. All online and mail-in registrations must be complete (to the office by May 28). Make your reservations with Pheasant Run today! We have a block of rooms still available - note the Tower is sold out - rooms are available in the courtyard wing of the resort. The cost is a special negotiated rate of $102 + 11% tax for a total of $113.22 per night.
To get this rate by phone, call 630-584-6300 before May 5, and tell the clerk that you are part of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Youth Session A planning session for the Annual Conference Youth Worship, Presentation and Session will be held on Saturday, April 21 at Community UMC in Naperville at 10:45am.

Creative Ministries Grant Deadline May 1
| The Northern Illinois Conference Program Council is accepting applications for Creative Ministries Grants to help fund new ministry projects in 2012.
Thanks to your apportionments a dozen grants were awarded last year. A couple of examples include, Faith UMC Chicago which planned to use the money for an after-school drop-in center and Grace Calvary UMC needed funds for a health and fitness ministry.
