Church Mortgage Survey

The CCFA is exploring a means to reduce monthly mortgage payments of local churches.  We are undertaking a survey of NIC churches with mortgages to learn the principal balance, interest rate, and monthly payments.

Once we learn of these mortgages, we can then search for ways to improve the financial arrangements.  If you have this information, please follow this link and complete the survey.  Or please forward the link to the person in your local church who can complete the survey and assist us in completing this effort.

Lent:  A time to reflect and a time to act

Lent is a time to ponder.  And it is a time to take action. It is a holy season to reflect on the past and prepare for tomorrow.  God calls us towards a future of justice where the vulnerable are comforted and justice prevails.

There are urgent, timely, local and global issues that call for response.  One issue is the expansion of predatory gambling in Illinois. For two decades the Anti-Gambling Task Force has brought issues in government sponsored gambling to the attention of the Annual Conference.

The primary election occurs during Lent on March 20 and gives an opportunity to express our concerns on this issue.  To view resources on gambling, alcohol, and drug addiction as well as a candidate survey, go to the ILCAAAP web site www.ilcaaap.org
